The 8-year old Avalon Charter School was originally managed by a site team from EdVisions Cooperative. In 2008, the site team decided it would separate from EdVisions and manage the school on their own. Teachers are currently in the process of determining their organizational structure. They will most likely form a cooperative. While we follow the development to describe it further here, we offer notes from a discussion with Carrie Bakken, co-founder of Avalon, in June 2008.
