Education|Evolving is working to encourage a radically different model of school organization, in which the authority for arranging both the learning program and the administration of a school is placed with a formally-organized group of teachers . . . and in which the teachers accept collegially the responsibility for the school's success.

This does break with the conventional theory about how school 'ought to be' organized. But it works. In this professional model attitudes and behaviors change significantly; on the part of teachers and on the part of students.

Brief Introduction to the Idea:

This is video 1 of a 3-part series.

E|E is now assisting and following the evolution of both the original model, in which the teachers take both their economic life and their professional life into their partnership, and a union-compatible variation now developing in Milwaukee, in which the teachers keep their economic life with district employment.

In this site we describe how—and why—this professional-partnership model works. You can hear how teachers respond. And can hear about the discussions E|E is having with teacher-unions about the idea.
