A new book by E|E associate Tim McDonald steps out shows how public schooling’s financial troubles are structural and will only continue to worsen unless there is change. UNSUSTAINABLE: A Strategy for Making Public Schooling More Productive, Effective, and Affordable will be released by Rowman & Littlefield in January 2011.
Also, the Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) has published a series of papers on school finance and productivity. Their research provides essential insights to the role of financing and the use of resources in education reform. In 2010 Marguerite Roza wrote Educational Economics: Where Do School Funds Go?, published by Urban Institute Press.
