A learning environment that focuses on the new 3 R'S—Relationship, Relevance & Rigor as a means to gain lifelong learning skills such as idea generation, decision-making, research, time and resource management, working with others, organization, communications, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
No arbitrary courses. No bell schedules. No limitations of measuring and predicting success by standardized tests alone. Graduation criteria is performance-based through project credits earned, state standards met, life skills gained, and a culminating senior project.

Students must show grade level mastery of reading, writing and mathematics skills. Literacy and math centers provide individualized, small group and direct instruction. As students master rigorous academic standards they have increased opportunities to engage in real-world problem solving and projects.
Hands-on, interactive, problem-based student projects with engaging themes and outcomes comprise much of the science, social science and the arts curriculum. With Aveson's strong emphasis on social leadership, all projects guarantee students are utilizing their learning to make a difference in their school, community, nation and/or the world. Master project teacher/mentors work with the same team of students for an entire academic year. Students demonstrate competency through authentic demonstrations of learning.
