De jure authority is granted to the school governing board via the pilot agreement. The agreement gives the board authority to make decisions in some areas, including authority to hire and fire the head of school and approve the budget. It might be the case that de facto teachers make decisions in certain areas.

About the Learning Program

All academic curricula are developed by Arts Academy faculty working in cooperation with ProArts faculty and other outside resources with an eye to state and national standards. BAA sets its own calendar and operates on a four term, two semester schedule. Term and semester dates do not necessarily correspond to the regular BPS schedule.
