When the Poughkeepsie Board of Education met for budget deliberations in March 2003, it received input from a constituency rarely involved in school funding debates: the students themselves.
Students from Nimitz High School in Irving, Texas swept the top three places in KERA's Funding Education: Students Speak Out, an editorial-writing competition designed to recognize students who demonstrate an understanding of school finance issues.
