We want to hear from teachers, principals, and leaders of youth programs

Do you have a sincere interest in your students carrying out research? Or in your students writing papers on topics in education policy? Education|Evolving has a list of topics we’d like students to contribute their opinions about, and we offer Web site publication (sometimes even paper publications) for thoughtful submissions. Education|Evolving’s interest is to integrate students’ voices with adult-level conversations influencing education policy, and we may wish to add an introduction to the work that helps summarize the findings in this context.

The Student Voices Web site is a legitimate, meaningful vehicle for students to document what’s happening in schools today. We published research conducted by students at Avalon School in Saint Paul, and helped arrange for them to present it to Minnesota policymakers at a Citizen’s League Mind Opener. The students were later invited to present their findings to a large district school board in Southern California. Later, their work was featured in the American School Board Journal. Other student contributors have testified before the state legislature in Minnesota.
