We want to hear from K-12 students, recent graduates, or young people who have quit school
Are you interested in documenting what’s happening in schools today or communicating your opinions on topics in education policy? We will consider publishing your thoughtful work (research or commentary) on our Web site. If you (or you and some fellow students) are interested in documenting student voices for us, we’d like to consider that, too. Perhaps your school will even offer you credit for this work.
The Student Voices Web site is a legitimate, meaningful vehicle for conveying your ideas and those of fellow students. We published research conducted by students at Avalon School in Saint Paul, and helped arrange for them to present it to Minnesota policymakers at a Citizen’s League Mind Opener. The students later presented their findings at a state conference of school superintendents held in Southern California. Finally, their work was featured in the American School Board Journal. Other student contributors have testified before the state legislature in Minnesota.
